“Databases are corrupted” message is displayed once Kaspersky Lab’s product 2009 is started

Concerning to:
  • Kaspersky Internet Security 2009
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009
  • After Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2009 or Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is started the following message may be displayed:

    In order to resolve the problem click the Update now link if your computer is connected to the Internet at the moment.

    If the computer has no Internet connection at the moment, in this case you can start update once you are connected to the Internet :

    • Open the application main window 
    • In the left part of the window select Update 
    • Click the Start update button
    • Wait until the update process is over 
    • Make sure the product is updated and functions normally 
    • Minimize the application main window

    In some cases the error may be caused by the incorrectly set system date. To make sure your system date is correct, do the following: 

    • In the right-down corner in Task bar click the Clock 

     

    • In the Date and Time Properties dialog window check the set date (day, month, year) with the current calendar date 
    • set the current calendar date and click OK

    • Re-run the update process
    • Wait until the update process is over and make sure the databases have updated successfully and the product functions correctly
