Disable DNS cache option was disabled when installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. How can I enable this option when the product is already installed?
DNS (Domain Name System) Caching: when first addressing to the network resource computer inquires the server DNS. This DNS is located in the computer cache and by further connections to the same network source this computer resolves the server DNS from cache. This option accelerates work of the LAN or Internet but decreases the computer security level.
To enable DNS caching after installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, do the following:
Go to Start > Run
Enter the SERVICES.MSC command and click Enter
In the list of services find the DNS Client service
Double-click DNS Client to open its properties
On the General tab in the Startup type field select Automatic
Click the Apply and then the Start buttons to start the DNS Client service immediately
