How to manually register management plug-ins for Mail Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam from Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 for mail clients Outlook Express (Windows Mail) and MS Outlook

Applies to Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

Sometimes with the installed and started Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 you can have the situation when incoming letters are checked for viruses and are filtered for spam, but the management plugin for the components Mail Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam is missing from the mail client. It means that the components Mail Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam are started and function in the normal mode, but somehow the management plugins are not displayed in the mail client.

To resolve this problem Kaspersky Lab’s experts recommend first manually unregister and then register the plugins’ libraries in the operating system.

32-bit Windows operating systems:

64-bit Windows operating systems:

Information In order to unregister and then register again the libraries you will need an administrator’s account. You are recommended to disable User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista while unregistering and registering the libraries.

If your computer works under OS Windows 32-bit

For users of the mail client Outlook Express (Windows Mail)

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\kloehk.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\kloehk.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Launch the mail client

For users of the mail client MS Outlook in MS Office

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Launch the mail client

If your computer works under OS Windows 64-bit

For users of the mail client Outlook Express (Windows Mail)

  • Close the mail client

  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\x64\kloehk.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Launch the mail client

If your computer works under OS Windows 64-bit and Microsoft Outlook 64-bit is installed, perform the following actions:

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\x64\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\x64\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\x64\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\x64\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Launch the mail client

 

If your computer works under OS Windows 64-bit and Microsoft Outlook 32-bit is installed, perform the following actions:

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Close the mail client 
  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 -u "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully unregistered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcou.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Click Start > Run 
  • In the Open field copy and enter the following command regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\mcouas.dll" 
  • Make sure the library has been successfully registered and click OK

  • Launch the mail client
