Concerning to Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

The URL scanning module, which is called Kaspersky Toolbar, is managed by the Web Anti-Virus component from Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. This module checks if links located on the web page belong to the list of suspicious and phishing web addresses.

In the products version 2010 this module can mark suspicious URLs only in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers. The module is built in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers as a plug-in, it is the button with the logotype of Kaspersky Lab and is situated on the toolbars of the browsers.

 

You can specify the list of URLs to be scanned: on all web pages or on specified web pages.

If you select on all web pages, then you can create a list of trusted web addresses the content of which should not be scanned.

In order to enable the URL scanning module, perform the following actions:

  • open the main application window
  • in the right upper corner click the Settings link
  • in the Protection section select Web Anti-Virus
  • in the Security level click the Settings... button
  • in the Web Anti-Virus window in the Additional section check the box Mark phishing and suspicious URLs in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox

For more detailed configuration of the module, click the Settings... button, next to the Mark phishing and suspicious URLs...

  • in the Kaspersky Toolbar window check the required option:
    • on all web pages
    • on specified web pages

If you select on all web pages, you can create a list of trusted web addresses, the content of which should not be scanned. In order to create the list, perform the following:

  • click the Exclusions button following after the on all web pages option
  • in the List of trusted web addresses click the Add link
  • in the Address mask (URL) enter a web address
  • click the OK button
  • create the list of trusted web addresses following the above mentioned instructions and then click the OK button in the List of trusted web addresses window.

If you select the on specified web pages option, you can create a list of web addresses, the content of which should be scanned by the module:

  • click the Select... button following after the on specified web addresses option
  • in the List of checked web addresses window click the Add link
  • in the Address mask (URL) enter a web address
  • click the OK button
  • create the list of checked web addresses following the above mentioned instructions and then click the OK button in the List of checked web addresses window.
  • in the Kaspersky Toolbar window click the OK button
  • close the main application window.
