Description: The error occurs if the program cannot get access to the files on an update source or cannot copy then into a required folder.
- Not enough rights of the account under which the update runs for the update source or a folder into which the updates are copied.
Solution: In order to resolve the problem, check the rights for the account under which the update process runs and change them if necessary. To analyze the reasons why the error occurs use the following rule:
In anti-virus applications version 6.0 if the run mode is set to Automatically or is scheduled in the update settings, then the update process runs under the Local System Account or under a specified account.
In all products version 6.0 when the update is initiated manually it runs under a user account who initiates it.
If update runs under an account of a definite user in order to check access try to enter an update source under this account using Windows Explorer.
If you work in a network and a network folder KLShare/Updates is used (but not the “Kaspersky Administration Kit” update source) as an update source then the Local System Account will not have the access into the folder. If you use the update scenario allow access to the Domain Computers group to this folder.
Once the changes are made, run the update task once again.
If the error repeats, create a detailed report file (trace) of the update process and send it Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via the web-form HelpDesk with the detailed description.
