KL 104.56: Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server

The course surveys Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server from installation and testing to diagnostics and notification setup.

Chapter 1. General Information The first chapter describes the general principles of Anti-Virus operation and, in particular, gateway security. It outlines Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server working principles, system requirements and available features
Chapter 2. Installation and Getting Started Anti-Virus installation includes computer setup, product installation and installation testing. The chapter describes all these steps: how to prepare the environment, run the installation wizard, connect the administration console for the first time and use its interface
Chapter 3. Protection Management The main task of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server is anti-virus filtering of the data stream at the gateway. This chapter explains how to set up filters and test them using the EICAR test virus.

Also, working with groups and policies is explained, which allows the administrator to create privileged user groups and specify different levels of anti-virus protection for them
Chapter 4. Maintenance This chapter describes the maintenance of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server, such as anti-virus database updating, diagnostics and notification configuration

The course includes two sorts of learning materials. The theoretical part is a presentation, which explains the principles of how Kaspersky Security works, and the recommendations on how it should be used. The practical part describes the interface and the settings of Kaspersky Security and shows how to perform typical tasks using the interface. You can experience the practical part as a demonstration or as an interactive tutorial. Both theory and practice are voiced.

Student Prerequisites

This course requires that students have some practical experience of using Microsoft ISA Server and administering of Microsoft Windows computers. Knowledge of common computer and networking terms, including Internet and e-mails are also required.

System Requirements

To fully experience this training you need the following:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
  • Flash Player 8 or later
  • Minimum display resolution 1024×768 (1280×960 is recommended)
  • Sound card, speakers or a headphones for listening to voice-over

NB: If access to the course is granted, but flash movies are not downloaded properly, please ensure that outbound TCP connections to the port 8080 are not blocked by any kind of Firewall (local or on the gateway).
