KL 105.60: Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition

In this course you can learn about the features and usage of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition. Theoretical presentations contain general overview of the features, while tutorials show where the corresponding settings are located and what effect they have.

Chapter 1. Installation This chapter explains why a special enterprise edition of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers exists, how it is different from the standard edition, which operating systems it supports, and what options administrators have for deployment.
Chapter 2. Updates This chapter covers the questions of updating anti-virus databases and modules of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. Both the simple case of updating a single instance of the Anti-Virus, and the case of updating multiple instances using and not using Kaspersky Administration Kit, are considered.
Chapter 3. Real-Time Protection Special attention in this chapter is paid to the features of real-time protection which separate Enterprise Edition of Kaspersky Anti-Virus. The flexibility to manage protection settings at an individual file or folder level, notion of virtual protection objects, and exclusion of backup operations are discussed.
Chapter 4. On-Demand Scans This chapter presents a walk through the settings of system on-demand scan tasks in Kaspersky Anti-Virus, and shows how to schedule additional scans both for a separate instance of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and for a group of protected servers in a centralized manner.
Chapter 5. Reaction to Threats This chapter is devoted to the possible reactions of Kaspersky Anti-Virus to a detected threat, beyond the standard blocking and neutralizing of dangerous objects. In particular, the automatic blocking of attacking computers and notifications via terminal services are discussed.
Chapter 6. More Notifications and Reports Here, the various sources of information about the Anti-Virus operation and status are covered, which can be used by the administrator for troubleshooting.

The course includes two sorts of learning materials. The theoretical part is a presentation, which explains the principles of how Kaspersky Security works, and the recommendations on how it should be used. The practical part describes the interface and the settings of Kaspersky Security and shows how to perform typical tasks using the interface. You can experience the practical part as a demonstration or as an interactive tutorial. Both theory and practice are voiced.

Student Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of and experience with Windows operating systems, networking, and terminal services.

System Requirements

To fully experience this training you need the following:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
  • Flash Player 8 or later
  • Minimum display resolution 1024×768 (1280×960 is recommended)
  • Sound card, speakers or a headphones for listening to voice-over

If your display resolution is less than 1280×960, we recommend using the Low Resolution Version.

NB: If access to the course is granted, but flash movies are not downloaded properly, please ensure that outbound TCP connections to the port 8080 are not blocked by any kind of Firewall (local or on the gateway).
