Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus Mobile version 6.xxx (for Symbian Smartphones Series 60)

Kaspersky Anti-Virus detects viruses using the records from its anti-virus databases containing descriptions of all currently known malicious programs. It is extremely important to keep your smartphone safe by updating the anti-virus databases frequently.

You can start the updating procedure manually or schedule it to start automatically at specified time. To select the update source, do the following:

  • Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
  • Use the Update page to open the Settings menu

  • Select the update source:

Local updates: the application will use database updates on your smartphone. To select that update type, set the value to Search on phone.

Web-based updates: the application will download updates fro the servers of Kaspersky Lab. To select that update type, set the value to Update via WAP if you wish to use WAP or Update via HTTP if you wish to download updates using HTTP. Select Use Browser if you want to retrieve updates using the browser of your smartphone.

Note: To update the database via Internet, your smartphone must have a GPRS connection (for updating via HTTP) or a WAP connection. If your smartphone supports WLAN technology then you can get updates when you are in the Wi–Fi coverage.
