Concerning to Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal PRO 5.0.527 and above
Note: pay attention that Anti-Virus databases are updated on the Kaspersky Lab server every hour and you can download both new and old files. If this occurs you won't be able to update from a local folder
If you have bad connection with Internet or by some reasons Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO cannot download Antivirus bases updates from Kaspersky Lab servers you can update Antivirus bases from a local folder. To configure Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO updates from a local folder do the following:
- on any hard disc of your PC create a folder, for example, Updates (Kaspersky Lab's experts recommend create it in the disc root directory)
- go to ftp server of Kaspersky Lab
- save the contents of these folders in the Updates folder
Configure Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO to update from the folder you have created. Do the following for it:
- Go to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO > Settings > Configure Updater
- in the Updater settings window go to the Sources of updates tab
- On the tab click the Add button
- in the drop-down list select Folder
- in the Add a source of updates dialog box select the folder where you saved the contents of
ftp.kaspersky.com/bases/av/avc/i386/
ftp.kaspersky.com/index/
ftp.kaspersky.com/bases/ids/
ftp.kaspersky.com/AutoPatches
- in the list of available sources you will see the selected folder and the Kaspersky Lab servers . To update only from the selected folder, uncheck the Kaspersky Lab servers
- close the update settings window by pressing OK
- go to Protection > Update now to update the anti-virus databases
- minimize the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 Personal PRO
