Kaspersky Lab, a leading manufacturer of secure content management solutions, announces that Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers was one of the first security solutions in the world to earn the certificate.
The Checkmark Platinum Product Award is a prestigious new award from West Coast Labs, an independent cybersecurity testing and research center. The certificate is issued based upon the results of extensive real-time testing of the quality of antimalware protection provided by a product. These tests very closely simulate the real life working conditions of an average user's computer. Each solution is tested 24x7x365 against a feed of malware in real time which transferred through or to it via the different protocols. Samples are harvested in real time through WCL's global honeynet which spans North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers demonstrated a consistently high level of malware detection with sufficient performance for the solution to run in real-time. The product was tested against some 800 malware samples appearing each month, including the newest malicious programs that might not yet feature in any malware databases.
The tests mimicked simultaneous attacks via the principle channels through which a computer may become infected: email, Internet browsing and FTP traffic. Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Linux File Servers delivered a convincing performance in filtering all of the potential channels, thereby ably demonstrating its comprehensive protection capability.
