To create an installation package for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows workstations/File Servers, right-click the Remote install node > New > Package. As a result the first window of New Package Wizard opens. The steps of the installation wizard are the following:
1. In the welcome window click Next > and in the next window enter the name for the new package. Click Next >.
2. In the Select an application window make sure the Make Kaspersky Lab's application package variant is selected and click the Browse button. Specify the path to the file
workstations.kpd – to create an installation package for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows workstations. The file is in the distribution package of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Window workstations and click Open.
or
fileserver.kpd to create an installation package for Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows File Servers. The file is in the distribution package of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.0 for Windows File Servers and click Open.
If the distribution package of the Antivirus is one file and it is a self-extracting archive, then you should first unpack it by an archivator (e.g. WinRAR) in a separate folder. The file with the kpd extension after unpack will be in this folder.
Click Next >
3. In the Select license window specify the path to a license key file (file with the key extension) and click Open.
Click Next>
4. To upload the installation package to the Kaspersky Administration Server click Next > in the Uploading window
5. In the Completing the New Package Wizard window click Finish.
The created package will be stored in the folder Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Administration Kit\Share\Packages as a folder with the name Workstation 5.0.xxx or Fileserver 5.0.xxx (the folder name contains the version of the antivirus product). If a folder has an already created package for the Antivirus, then the folder of a new package will have the name Workstation 5.0.xxx (1) or Fileserver 5.0.xxx (1) and etc.
If by some reasons when creating an installation package a license key has not been added, you can do it later then – copy it in the folder with the files of a necessary package.
In the Administration Console the information about the created package will be placed in the Remote install node of the Console tree with the name specified when creating the package.
