Applies to Kaspersky PURE

Using the My Parental Control functional module from Kaspersky PURE you can set restrictions on certain web resources access depending on their content. You can block access to all web sites not included into the Allowed list, or you can block access to web sites by categories, for example, you can block access to web sites containing information concerning weapons or violance.

Also you can configure access to web sites more detailedly using the lists Allowed URL and Blocked URL. For example, you can add a web address, which is not included into categories of web sites access to which is blocked, to the list of Blocked URL.

If the Control access to web sites option is enabled, you can view web sites access statistics for each user account on the selected computer.

In order to control and limit the access to web sites corresponding on their content for the required user account, perform the following actions:

  • open the main application window
  • click the My Parental Control button
  • in the My Parental Control window on the Users tab, select the required user account
  • click the Configure button

  • in the left part of the Settings - My Parental Control for user "account name" in the Internet section, select the Access to web sites item
  • in the right part of the window, check the box Enable

  • if you want to block access to web sites not included into the Allowed URL list, then check the box Block web sites not included into the "Allowed" list

  • if you want to block access only to web sites of particular categories, then go to the Not recommended tab and select the required categories, or you can select all categories by checking the box Select all

  • you can create a list of web sites access to which will be allowed. In order to do so, go to the Allowed URL tab, click the Add link and then enter the required address, for example, http://www.site.com/*, in the entry field of the Address mask (URL) window. The asterisk (*) means any sequence of symbols. To save the address, click the OK button

  • you can create a list of web sites access to which will be blocked. In order to do so, go to the Blocked URL tab, click the Add link and then enter the required address, for example, http://www.site.com/*, in the entry field of the Address mask (URL) window. The asterisk (*) means any sequence of symbols. To save the web address, click the OK button

  • after you have configured all the required settings, click the OK button in the Settings - My Parental Control for user "account name" window
  • in the My Parental Control window, click the Close button
  • close the main application window.

InformationIf a web address, which you want to add to the Allowed URL or Blocked URL lists, contains the symbols *, ?, \, then you are required to use the symbol \ to override the asterisk (*), question mark (?) or backslash (\) following it. For example, you want to add the following URL www.site?anti-virus, then you have to enter the \ symbol before ?; the web address will look in the following way www.site\?anti-virus.
