Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter is an interception-driver of network packets. Interception mechanism is implemented by the technology NDIS Intermediate Driver. This method of embedding into the system is recommended by the Microsoft Company as it provides maximum compatibility both with different OS’s versions and with other applications and drivers.
The Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter is displayed in the network settings window. In order to open the network settings window, perform the following actions:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
If Kaspersky PURE is installed on a computer working under OS Windows XP, then in order to open the network settings window perform the following actions:
- click the Start button
- in the Start menu, select the Control Panel item

- open the Network Connections window. To do so, perform the following:
- if the Control Panel window is swithced to Classic View, then to open the Network Connection window double-click the Network Connections icon

- If Control Panel is switched to Category View, then to open the Network Connections window:
- click the Network and Internet Conections link

- in the Network and Internet Connections window, click the Network Connections link

- right-click the required network connection
If two or more network connections are established in the system, then the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 NDIS Filter will be embedded into each network connection.
- select Properties from the menu that will open

- in the <Network connection name> Properties window on the General tab, you can find the Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter in the list of installed components.

2. Windows Vista
If Kaspersky PURE is installed on a computer working under OS Windows Vista, then in order to open the network settings window perform the following actions:
- click the Start button
- in the Start menu, select the Control Panel item

- open the Network and Sharing Center window:
- if you have Classic View of Control Panel selected, then double-click the Network and Sharing Center icon

- if you have Control Panel Home selected, then click View network status and tasks in the Network and Internet section

- in the Network and Sharing Center window click the View status link next to the required network connection
If two or more network connections are established in the system, then the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 NDIS Filter will be embedded into each network connection.

- in the <Network connection name> Status window, click the Properties button

- if User Account Control is enabled, then the dialog window with the request will appear on the screen. Click the Allow button
- in the <Network connection name> Properties window on the Networking tab, you can find the Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS 6 Filter in the list of installed components.

3. Windows 7
If Kaspersky PURE is installed on a computer working under OS Windows 7, then in order to open the network settings window perform the following actions:
- click the Start button
- in the Start menu, select the Control Panel item

- open the Network and Sharing Center window:
- if you have Large icons (or Small icons) are selected, then double-click the Network and Sharing Center icon

- if you have Category is selected, then click View network status and tasks in the Network and Internet section

- in the Network and Sharing Center window, click the link with the required network connection name, for example, the Local Area Connection link
If two or more network connections are established in the system, then the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 NDIS Filter will be embedded into each network connection.

- in the <Network connection name> Status window, click the Properties button
