Kaspersky Lab has released Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers on January 27, 2014.
Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers protects mailboxes, public folders and mail traffic on a Microsoft Exchange Server against malware, spam and phishing, and prevents confidential data leaks in outgoing messages.
The application can be updated from the previous version 8.6.79.0
Maintenance Pack 2 Critical Fix 1 to the current version 9.0.
Please note: The access rights to update the application have changed. The user account used to perform the update to version 9.0 must possess the following access rights:
- SQL server: ALTER ANY LOGIN, ALTER ANY CREDENTIAL.
- Application databases: CONNECT, CREATE TYPE, CREATE TABLE, CREATE XML SCHEMA COLLECTION.
Improvements and new features
- Improved operation at server startup through the optimization of Active Directory.
- DLP Module (Protection against data leaks). Main DLP module functions are protection against data leaks using preinstalled and user-defined categories; incident handling by information security experts; operational reports on the module.
- Concurrent access to application functions based on two built-in roles: Information Security Expert and Administrator.
- Licensing procedure has been modified. Two types of keys are available: Security Server key (for Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam functions) and DLP Module key.
- Improved fault tolerance at higher loads of mail traffic through a protected Microsoft Exchange Server.
- Support for the new operating system Windows Server 2012 R2.
- New Anti-Spam, AM PDK, Updater PDK integrated kernel (including the self-renewing Updater).
- Support of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 SP1 in the Edge Transport role has been added.
