Kaspersky Lab has released Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Server on January 27, 2015.
Kaspersky Security 9.0 for SharePoint Server is designed to protect the SharePoint platform against viruses and other malware and to scan the content of web resources for unwanted content, protect personal data of users and confidential data of companies on SharePoint websites against data leaks.
You can upgrade to Kaspersky Security 9.0 for SharePoint Server from version 8.1.8481. Upgrading from older versions is not supported.
You can upgrade Kaspersky Security deployed in the following configurations:
- Protection Server and Administration Console deployed on an autonomous SharePoint server.
- Protection Server and Administration Console deployed on a SharePoint server which is a part of a SharePoint server farm.
- Administration Console.
Improvements and new features in Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Servers
- Compatibility with Windows Server 2012 R2.
- DLP Module for protection against data leaks. The DLP Module allows doing the following:
- Scan files in real time when they are being transferred to SharePoint.
- Create custom criteria for validating the confidentiality of data.
- Adjust settings to detect and respond to data leaks.
- Automatically record detailed information about incidents related to data leaks.
- Manage the life cycle of incidents.
- Perform a background check of SharePoint websites for confidential data.
- Create application operation reports.
- Role separation for controlling the application has been added. To access application functions, the user can select one of the following roles: administrator or information security expert.
- Modified activation procedure. Two types of license are available, which grant the right to use various application functions.
- Improved Anti-Virus scan module.
- Improved Management Console interface.
- A number of application bugs has been fixed.
