Kaspersky Lab has released Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft SharePoint Server on October 29, 2015. Full version number is 9.2.57185.0

Improvements and new features

  • The option of configuring templates for application operation event notifications has been added.
  • The feature of handling preset Kaspersky Lab categories in the DLP Module has been enhanced. The option of changing the contents of any Kaspersky Lab category has been added.
  • The Management Console GUI has been improved.
  • The option of calling Help in online mode has been added.
  • A number of application bugs has been fixed.

Main known issues

  • If the scan timeout specified in the SharePoint settings is exceeded while a document is being uploaded to a SharePoint server with the use of Explorer View, all versions of the document being uploaded are removed to the recycle bin. The files have to be restored from the recycle bin manually.
  • If the application is installed on several farm servers at once, error warnings are displayed when the anti-virus settings of the SharePoint server are updated. These messages can be ignored.
  • When an attempt is made to upload an infected file or a file with unwanted content to a SharePoint server with the use of Explorer View, four copies of the file are moved to Backup.
  • When an attempt is made to download and save an infected file (by selecting Save as in Internet Explorer) attached to a calendar event, a message appears saying that the site cannot be opened.
  • During an On-access scan, one and the same file may be processed multiple times when this file is uploaded or downloaded for the first time.
  • The Kaspersky Security Network service will not work if the address of an inactive DNS server is specified in the settings of the primary network connection.
  • If archives are excluded from the On-access scan.docx files containing viruses may be downloaded to the SharePoint server. The log will record that the file was excluded from the scan.
  • Anti-Virus scan detects a file excluded from the scan scope by a file name mask if this file is inside an archive.
  • If the application is configured to use a proxy server when updating databases from a remote source, database updates via the proxy server will fail when an FTP server is specified as the source of updates.
  • Kaspersky Security 9.0 for SharePoint Server is not compatible with Windows Live Mail. If Kaspersky Security automatic notifications are sent from this mail client, the text will not be displayed in the correct encoding.
  • Kaspersky Lab categories for protection against data leaks are not downloaded when updating to Kaspersky Security version 9.0. These categories are downloaded after the application databases are updated.
  • If the application blocks the transfer through Windows Explorer of the file containing these categories, eight incidents are created by error. This error is related to the operational features of Microsoft SharePoint Server.
