In Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac you can choose whether to start the full scan task manually or by schedule (automatically). To configure the schedule of the full scan task, perform the following:
  1. Open the main application window
  2. In the upper left part of the window click the Preferences button.

  1. In the Preferences window go to the Virus Scan tab.
  2. In the left part of the window select Full Scan.
  3. In the right part of the window in the Run Mode section perform the following actions:
    • If you want to run scan manually, clear the Every 1 day <at set time> box. If you select the Manually variant, then you can start the task at any time convenient for you. The full scan process takes some time to be completed and you cannot use some applications installed on your computer during the scan process.
    • If you want to run the scan automatically, then check the Every 1 day <at set time> box and click the Edit button

    • You can flexibly configure the task autorun by schedule:
      • Set the frequency of the task execution. In the schedule settings you can select one of the following frequencies: minutes, hours, days, every week, at a specified time, every month, after application startup, after every update.
      • You can set a definite time interval for each period. For example if you select the Months frequency you can specify a definite day of the month (1, 2,3 …) and the specific time of the task start (17:00).
      • If it is not possible to start the task for any reason (for example, the computer was not on at that time), you can configure the task to start automatically as soon as it becomes possible. To do so, check the Run skipped tasks box.

  1. Configure the schedule to run the full scan task.

  1. Click the OK button in the lower part of the window.
  2. Close the Preferences and the main application windows.
