How to upgrade from Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0.4.x or 6.0.3.x to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows Workstation

You can install Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows on top of the following antivirus applications:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations version 6.0.4.1424 and 6.0.4.1212
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations version 6.0.3.837
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers version 6.0.4.1424 and 6.0.4.1212
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Servers version 6.0.3.837

When Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows installer detects one of the above listed applications on a computer, it removes the detected application and saves its settings. No reboot is required after that. Then it installs Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows and imports the saved settings from the old version. Reboot is required to apply the changes once the installation is complete. 

Please note. Quarantine and backup content is not saved during upgrade.

Important. If an error occurs when updating a previous version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, for example, when deleting a previous network driver version, it is recommended that you use the kavremover.exe utility.
