During the installation of Kaspersky PURE 3.0 the error "Kaspersky PURE 3.0 was not installed successfully. Your computer might be infected." may occur.
If the error appears, Kaspersky PURE 3.0 setup wizard will offer you to download a special tool to disinfect your infected computer from viruses and other types of malware — Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.
Note: Although the message implies that you are infected, it is very likely that your machine has remnants of Kaspersky which also causes this same error message, so we recommend that you first run the Kaspersky Removal Tool and attempt to install once more.
If computer disinfection with the help of Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool does not work, try using the Kaspersky Rescue Disk.
You can create a rescue disk on a CD/DVD or removable USB device and then boot the computer from the created rescue disk.
Compatibility of Kaspersky Rescue Disk with OS Windows 8.1
Kaspersky Rescue Disk is not yet compatible with Windows 8.1.
