During the installation of Kaspersky PURE 3.0 the error "Kaspersky PURE 3.0 was not installed successfully. Your computer might be infected." may occur. A majority of the time the problem is caused by remnants of Kaspersky, and there is no actual infection on the computer.
We recommend that you follow the steps below in order and check if the issue is resolved after each method attempted.
Although the message implies that you are infected, it is very likely that your machine has remnants of Kaspersky which also causes this same error message, so we recommend that you first run the Kaspersky Removal Tool and attempt to install once more.
Click the Download button and save the file to your Desktop. The exact steps depend on your web browser.
For Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7 a password of the local user Administrator is required.
On some computer configurations the key F8 is used to select a physical drive to boot from. In this case select a hard disk drive with installed OS. Once you have pressed Enter, keep pressing F8 until Windows Advanced Options Menu is displayed.
After you perform required action in the Safe Mode, reboot the computer.
Double-click the file kavremover.exe. Read the license agreement and click Accept.
In the Kaspersky Lab Products Remover window enter the code from the picture. If you cannot read the code from the picture, click the button to the right of the picture to generate a new code.
If the utility detects Kaspersky Lab products, it will list them in the Following products were detected section. If nothing is detected, select your most recent Kaspersky Lab product from the list. Click Remove.
The removal process may take a few minutes. Wait until the confirmation window appears. Click OK.
Restart your computer.
If you had more than one Kaspersky Lab product on the computer, rerun the removal tool in Safe Mode once more, following steps 2 and 3 above.
