The Web Anti-Virus component is designed to ensure the security while using the Internet. It protects your computer against data coming into your computer via the HTTP and FTP protocols, and also prevents dangerous scripts from being executed on the computer.
By default the Web Anti-Virus component is enabled and functions in the mode developed by Kaspersky Lab specialists.
To disable or enable Web Anti-Virus, perform the following actions:
Web Anti-Virus can work in several modes, which are called security levels. The security level is defined as a preset configuration of Web Anti-Virus settings distinguished by Kaspersky Lab specialists. Three security levels are designed in Kaspersky Internet Security 2014.
To change a security level, do the following:
Each web page or file that is accessed by the user, or by a program via the HTTP and FTP protocols, is intercepted and analyzed for malicious code by Web Anti-Virus. Malicious objects are detected using both Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 databases and the heuristic algorithm. The databases contain descriptions of all the malicious programs known to date and methods for neutralizing them. The heuristic algorithm can detect new viruses that have not yet been entered in the database. Once analysis of an HTTP object shows that it contains malicious code, the response by the Web Anti-Virus component depends on the action you have selected.
If the program functions in the automatic mode, then an action that should be performed on a detected threat will be selected automatically.
To change an action performed upon a threat detection, do the following:
Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 checks security of a web site before following the link, using the Kaspersky URL Advisor module.
By default, Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 checks URLs only in search results. In order to enable URL check on any web site, do the following:
Release of antivirus database updates (required to protect your computer/server/mobile device)
Providing technical support over phone / web
Release of patches for the application (addressing detected bugs)
*The installation of plug-ins from Google Web Store is required for the support of the Google Chrome 33.x web browser.
