When contacting Technical Support, you may be asked to make a screenshot (to capture an operating system error message or a Kaspersky Lab product's window, depending on which information is requested by your Technical Support engineer). Screenshots help us to provide you with the most precise solutions.

To make a screenshot in Windows:

  1. Reproduce the situation that provokes the error.
  2. When the needed information displays on the screen, press the Print Screen key (it commonly follows the F12 key).

On some keyboards, this key is marked Prt Sc SysRq, Prt Scr SysRq or has an identical name.

If there is no Print Screen key on your hardware keyboard, use the On-Screen keyboard in Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7.

  1. Run Paint (learn how to do it in Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 8).
  2. In Paint, select Edit -> Paste or use the shortcut Ctrl + V (press and hold Ctrl, then press V).

  1. Go to the File menu and select Save as.
  2. Create a filename and save and select the image as JPG (files of this type are smaller than in the default BMP format).
