Applies to all Kaspersky Lab products for computers working under Windows operating systems

In some cases Kaspersky Lab Technical Support specialists need to get from you a screen copy with an error message or with a settings window of a Kaspersky Lab product (a Technical Support expert will inform you about the kind of the display to be sent). To create the screen copy, perform the following actions:

  1. Reproduce the situation that leads to the message to be displayed
  2. When the necessary message is displayed, press the Print Screen button (usually it is next to the F12 button)
  3. run the Paint program the following way:
    • In the left bottom corner click on the Start button
    • Select All Programs > Accessories > Paint
  4. Next select > Edit > Paste
  5. In the File menu select Save as, enter the name of the file and save it in the JPG format (the image in this format is less than in the default BMP format).

Also you can find detailed instructions on how to make a screenshot on the official web site of Microsoft technical support service:

Then,  create a request to Kaspersky Lab Technical Support via My Kaspersky Account. You will be able to attach files by two methods:

  • Upload of your files directly from this web-form: you can attach the necessary files to the message using this web-form.
  • Upload your files on Kaspersky Lab's FTP server manually: you can attach the necessary files to your message by uploading them on the Kaspersky Lab's FTP server in the folder with the name of your request number.
