Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac is designed to protect Mac-based home computers from malware.

Protection:

• Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac is developed based on an enhanced anti-virus kernel that has a high efficiency in malware detection.
• Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac includes a special technology Kaspersky Security Network. The technology is developed to decrease time required to detect and block new types of malware. The system allows to receive info about opened files and, therefore, detect malicious objects and ways of spreading.
• Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 for Mac includes Kaspersky URL Advisor. The module scans all links on the web page and determines whether they are malicious of phishing using the Kaspersky Security Network service. The module can be embedded to such web browsers as Safari, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox as a plug-in.
• The heuristic analysis technology. Heuristic analyzer (or simply, a heuristic) is a technology of virus detection, which cannot be detected by antivirus databases. It allows detecting objects, which are suspiced being infected by unknown or new modification of known viruses.
• Reputation services that protect against new threats. Reputation services are online databases containing information about trusted programs and websites (white listing) and suspect programs and websites (Urgent Detection System, or UDS). Data to reputation services are added by Kaspersky Lab specialists before the same signatures appear in antivirus databases, thus, increasing new malware detection rate.
