  • The setup.ini file contains Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows installation settings and allows installing the application using a particular scenario. You can modify installation settings by editing the setup.ini file in a text editor, e.g. notepad.exe.

    The setup.ini file is used for installing from command line prompt in silent mode or via group policies.

    Alert Download Setup.ini with default configuration.

    Setup.ini is divided into sections (in brackets), each one containing certain settings:

    [Setup]

    General installation settings
    InstallDir

    Application installation folder path

    ActivationCode

    Application activation code

    Eula

    Acceptance of the license agreement. Values: 1 - accept, 0 – do not accept.

    KSN

    Agreement to participate in the Kaspersky Security Network program. Values: 1 - agree, 0 - disagree.

    Password

    A password protecting application control and settings.

    PasswordArea

    Defines the password area of effect. Can protect the following functions:

    SET – modification of application settings.

    EXIT – exiting the application.

    DISPROTECT – disabling protection components and stopping scan tasks.

    DISPOLICY – disabling Kaspersky Security Center 9 policies.

    UNIST – uninstalling the application.

    DISCONTRL – disabling the control components (Application startup control, Application activity control, Vulnerability scan, Device control, Web control).

    REMOVELIC – license key removal.

    POSTPOUND – postponing the full computer scan task.

    SelfProtection

    Enable/Disable self-defense during application installation. Values: 1 - enabled, 0 - disabled.

    Reboot

    Reboot the computer after the installation completes, as necessary.

    Values: 1 - reboot, 0 – do not reboot.

    MSExclusions

    Add scan exclusion rules for Microsoft software. Values: 1 – add the exclusions, 0 – do not add the exclusions.

    KLExclusions

    Add scan exclusion rules recommended by Kaspersky Lab. Values: 1 – add the exclusions, 0 – do not add the exclusions.

    NoKLIM5

    Install or not the application network drivers (NDIS). By default, the drivers are installed. Values: 1 – install the application without NDIS, 0 – install with NDIS.

    Functions in 32 bit OS only.

    AddEnviroment

    Add executable file paths to the environment variable %PATH%. Values: 1 – add file paths to %PATH%, 0 – do not add file paths to %PATH%.

    Functions with Kaspersky Endpoint Security for file servers only.

    [Components]

    Select application components to install.

    AlertIf at least one component is specified, all the not specified components shall not be installed.

    ALL

    Install all components.

    MailAntiVirus

    Install Mail Anti-Virus (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    FileAntiVirus

    Install File Anti-Virus.

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    IMAntiVirus

    Install IM Anti-Virus (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    WebAntiVirus

    Install Web Anti-Virus (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    ApplicationRestriction

    Install Application activity control (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    SystemWatcher

    Install System watcher (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    Firewall

    Install Firewall.

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    NetworkAttackBlocker

    Install Network Attack Blocker.

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    WebControl

    Install Web control (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    DeviceControl

    Install Device control (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    ApplicationControl

    Install Application startup control (workstation only).

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    VulnerabilityAssessment

    Install Vulnerability scan.

    Values: 1 - Install, 0 - do not install.

    AdminKitConnector

    Install the Kaspersky Security Center 9 network agent connector.

    Values: 1 - install the connector, 0 – do not install the connector.

    [Tasks]

    Select Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows tasks.

    AlertIf no tasks specified here, all the application tasks will function after installing. If at least one task is specified, all the other tasks will be disabled.

    ScanMyComputer

    Full scan task.

    Values: 1 - create the task, 0 - do not create the task.

    ScanCritical

    Scan critical areas task.

    Values: 1 - create the task, 0 - do not create the task.

    Updater

    Updater Application modules and antivirus database update task.

    Values: 1 - create the task, 0 - do not create the task.

    Instead of 1 you can use yes, on, enable, enabled. Instead of 0 - no, off, disable, disabled.
