Applies to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Linux

Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Linux supports remote installation via Kaspersky Administration Kit but it is necessary to have Network Agent installed (either locally or via Administration Server) on the target host. This task requires:

  • a distribution package (rpm- or deb-) of the antivirus application;
  • a plug-in for remote installation of the antivirus application (including files akinstall.sh and kes4lwks.kpd);
  • an Administration Server plug-in for managing the antivirus application (klcfginst.exe);
  • Network Agent installed on the target host (klnagent) and connected to the Administration Server.

  1. Open Kaspersky Administration Kit and create an antivirus application installation package (go to the node Repositories > Installation packages and click Add an installation package in the right pane):

  2. Click Next in the wizard, enter a package name and click Next again;

  3. Click Select and choose a .kpd file of the plug-in for remote installation of the antivirus application. This file has to be in the same folder with the distribution package and the installation script (akinstall.sh):

  4. Wait for the files to get downloaded to the Administration Server and click Next. Select desired installation package settings (installation method for the real-time protection and Samba module, enable/disable real-time protection after installing) and click Next:

  5. Choose an update source and click Next:

  6. Select the option Do not restart the computer (it is not necessary to reboot the computer after installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security) and click Next:

  7. Click Finish.

  8. It is now the time to start an Anti-Virus remote installation task. Right-click the installation package you have created and select Install:

  9. Click Next;

  10. Choose a group or a selection of computers for deployment:

  11. Click Next twice;

  12. Click Add on the activation stage and select a key file for Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Linux. If a key has already been added, just click Next;

  13. Select the option Do not restart the computer (it is not necessary to reboot the computer after installing Kaspersky Endpoint Security) and click Next:

  14. Click Next on the account management stage (Network Agent installed on the remote host already has all permissions required to install Kaspersky Endpoint Security);

  15. Click Next twice to start the remote installation task.
