Applies to Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone Anti-Theft is a Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone component for protecting the data stored on your mobile device from unauthorized access.š
Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone can activate Anti-Theft functions remotely by delivery of an SMS command from another mobile device. An SMS command is sent as an encrypted SMS containing the secret code of the application installed on the device receiving the command. The receipt of the SMS command is unnoticeable on the receiving device.
Anti-Theft has the following functions: - Block allows blocking a device remotely and compose a text to be displayed on the blocked device;
- Data wipe allows remotely deleting personal user data (Contacts records, messages, images gallery, calendar, logs, Internet connection settings) from the device, as well as the data from flash cards and folders on the deletion list. The list of folder to be deleted is a list containing folders configured via a policy and folders selected on the mobile device. It is impossible to locally remove from the list the folders added via a policy;
- SIM watch allows receiving current phone number in case of replacing the SIM card, and block the device in case of replacing the SIM card or activating the device without a SIM card. Information about the new phone number is sent as a message to a phone number/email address you have specified;
- GPS Find allows determining the location of your device. Its geographical coordinates will be sent as a message to a phone number sending the request and to an email address. The function is only available for devices having an integrated GPS receiver. The receiver gets activated automatically upon receiving a special SMS command. If the device can find enough satellites, the function GPS Find pinpoints the device and sends out its coordinates. If the device cannot find enough satellites at the moment of receiving the request, GPS Find keeps repeating the attempts to detect them and sends out the results.
 Remote activation of the Anti-Theft functions requires keeping memorized the secret application code configured at first Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Smartphone start-up.
