Troubleshooting of issues with remote installation/removal of Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 or other software via Kaspersky Security Center 9 by Kaspersky Lab specialists depends on availability of certain additional technical data.

It is necessary to enable the tracing before running the task. If there is no problem with reproducing the issue, it is even better to enable the tracing before creating the task.

Required files:

  • Remote installation log from the issuing host, exported in a .txt file. This can be accomplished by opening Task results, selecting the host, and clicking Export at the bottom of the frame.
  • Administration server trace file. The file named $klserver-1093.log
  • Remote installer trace file from the Administration server and from the Update agent (in case you have selected installation from a shared folder). File named $klwinstman.log.
  • Network agent trace file from the issuing host (in case you have selected installation via Network agent or if Network agent suddenly halts during installation). File named $klnagent-1103.log.
  • Network agent trace file from the Update agent of the issuing host. File named $klnagent-1103.log.
  • Temporary installation files. Files on the issuing host with names starting in $klr*.* in the folder indicated as TEMP in the system variables (%WINDIR%\Temp, by default).
  • Installation logs from the issuing host.
  • Folder named "KAV REMOTE Installation". It gets created in the folder indicated as TEMP in the system variables (%WINDIR%\Temp, by default).
