How to configure remote management using Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for file Server installed on network computers?

Management Center is designed for remote control of Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 installed on networked computers. Remote management can be configured with the help of the wizard.

To configure remote management, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. Click Management Center.
  3. On the right hand part of the window, click Management Console Configuration Wizard.
  4. Enter or set the administrator password on the Password protection tab.
  5. Check the box Remember and do not require during the session.
  6. Click Next.
  7. InformationFor remote management via local network, the Administrator password should be identical on all computers. For the correct operation of Management Console, there must be nu computers with identical names in the local network.

    • on the Search for computers tab, in the drop-down list of the Network section select a network subject for remote control. Below you can find the list of detected computers.
      InformationTo display the network computers in Management Console, on each computer the status of your office network in the Firewall settings should be set as Trusted network or Local network. In order to confifure Firewall, click on the Configure Firewall on this computer link.
    • In the Search for computers in the network section, click on the Start link to start the search process.  You can change the list of found computers using the buttons Add computer manually, Delete from the list, Clear list.
    • Check the box Hide not controlled computers, if you wish to see only computers with Controlled status.
    • Click Next.
    • Select method of updating databases on networked computers on the Update source tab.
      • Select one computer as update source for other computers (recommended). In this update scenario only one computer should be connected to the Internet to download the anti-virus databases and/or modules from the Kaspersky Lab’s servers. All other controlled computers will update from the local folder of the dedicated update server.
      • Allow each computer in my network to update its own databases from the Internet. In this update scenario all controlled computers should have access to the Internet so that each computer would download the anti-virus databases and/or modules separately.
    • InformationIf the selected server is unavailable then all other computers will update from the Internet (unless the Internet connection is forbidden by the administrator).

       

    • Click the Next button.
    • Confirm the settings you have selected on the Summary tab by clicking the Finish button.

    Once the initial configuration is complete, the following options will be available: Management Console, Scan network computers, Update Center.
