Applies to Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for File Server

Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter is an interception-driver of network packets. Interception mechanism is implemented by the technology NDIS Intermediate Driver. This method of embedding into the system is recommended by the Microsoft Company as it provides maximum compatibility both with different OS’s versions and with other applications and drivers.

The Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter is displayed in the network settings window. In order to open the network settings window, perform the following actions:

Windows Server 2003

If Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for File Server is installed on a computer working under OS Windows Server 2003, then in order to open the network settings window perform the following actions:

  1. In the bottom left corner of the screen click the Start button.
  2. In the Start menu, select Control Panel > Network connections > Network and Sharing Center.
  3. In the Local Area Connection Status window click the Properties button.
  4. In the Local Area Connection Properties window on the General tab you can find the Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter in the list of installed components.

 

Windows Server 2008

If Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for File Server is installed on a computer working under Windows Server 2008, then in order to open the network settings window perform the following actions:

  1. In the bottom left corner of the screen click the Start button.
  2. In the Start menu, select Control Panel > Network connections > Network and Sharing Center.

  3. Open the Network and Sharing Center window:
    • if the Control Panel window is switched to Classic View, then to open the Network and Sharing Center window click the Network and Sharing Center link

    • If Control Panel is switched to Category View, click the Network and Internet link.

  4. In the right part of the Network and Sharing Center window in the Connection string click the required network connection, for example Local Area Connection.

    InformationIf two or more network connections are established in the system, then the Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6 NDIS Filter will be embedded into each network connection.

  5. In the Local Area Connection Status window click the Properties button.

  6. In the Properties window you can find the Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS Filter in the list of installed components.
