Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer contains a special component, Firewall, to ensure your security on local networks and the Internet. It filters all network activities using rules of two types: rules for applications and packet rules.

In order to block access of an application to the Internet, you can create a rule for an application in Firewall settings. To do this, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the upper right hand corner of the window, click Settings.
  3. In the left hand part of the Settings window, under Protection select the Firewall component.
  4. Make sure that the Firewall component is enabled (the Enable Firewall box is checked).
  5. In the right part of the window, click the Settings button.
  6. In the Firewall window on the Filtering rules tab, select the required application.
  7. Click the Add link.
  8. In the Network rule window in the Action section, select Block.
  9. If you want the results for the network rule to be logged, check the Log events box.
  10. In the Network service section, select Web-Browsing.
  11. Click on the OK button.
  12. In the Firewall window on the Filtering rules tab, the selected rule appears with the Deny icon.
  13. In the Firewall window, click the OK button.
  14. In the Settings window, click OK.
  15. Close the main application window.
