Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Proxy Server

Fine-tuning Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Proxy Server version 5.5.80 (Maintenance Pack 3)

 ID Article: 7704    Other languages:  Русский  English      Views for 7 days 3    Last modified on 20.06.2012 18:50 Printable version

Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 5.5 for Proxy Server

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Proxy Server version 5.5.80 (Maintenance Pack 3) features the following changes:

  1. Removed delayed start-up functionality making all application processes start immediately without delay regardless of load.

  2. New antivirus kernel consumes less RAM and runs faster.

  3. Child processes now terminate every 1024 requests per child to improve the stability.

Due to these changes, before introducing MP3 we recommend testing and reconfiguring the following settings according to the values:

[icapserver.process]
MaxChildren=3
IdleChildren=1š
MaxReqsPerChild=1024
MaxEnginesPerChild=3

[icapserver.filter]
MaxReqLength=0

Information When scanning large files, child processes' termination at every 1024 requests per child may result in an ICAP Server error. If you are going to scan such files, you should increase MaxReqsPerChild or assign it zero value. However, if application stability and performance is of major importance, you should set MaxReqsPerChild=1024 and MaxReqLength to above zero.
