How to start Vulnerability Scan in Kaspersky PURE 2.0?

Vulnerability scan is a special tool which helps to search and eliminate security vulnerabilities of applications, installed on your computer, and in operating system settings.

How to start the task from the main application window

In order to start the vulnerability scan task from the Vulnerability scan window, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the main application window select Computer Protection.
  3. In the Computer Protection window go to the Scan tab.
  4. In the Scan window in the Vulnerability Scan section, click the start button.

How to start Vulnerability scan using an existing shortcut

The Vulnerability Scan task can be launched using the created shortcut.

In order to do it, you need just double-click on the vulnerability scan shortcut. The task performing process will be shown in the Task Manager window that will open and in the main application window.

How view to Vulnerability Scan results

In order to view the scan results, perform the following actions:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the main application window select Computer Protection.
  3. In the Computer Protection window go to the Scan tab.
  4. In the Vulnerability Scan section, click the link with the number of threats.

  1. In the bottom right corner of the screen right-click the program icon and select Scan tasks/
  2. In the Scan tasks window in the list of tasks find Vulnerability scan and click the Detected vulnerabilities button.

The scan results will be displayed in the Vulnerability Scan window in two tabs:

  • System vulnerabilities
  • Vulnerable applications

In order to eliminate the system vulnerability, select the item and click the Fix it button.

If you select an object in the Vulnerable applications tab, there will be two variants to choose:

  • you can read the vulnerability description by clicking Details
  • you can create an exclusion rule for the selected vulnerability by clicking Add to exclusions

In the Vulnerability Scan window also the information about when the scan task was stopped or completed is displayed. The time is also the link to open the detailed report.

In the detailed report you can find information about start, stop or completion of the vulnerability scan task.

If you select an object, you will be able to find description for the selected object in the lower part of the window.

How to roll back vulnerability eliminations

You can view the list of vulnerability eliminations and roll back performed actions (for example, if Internet access problems appear). In order to do this, perform the following actions:

  1. In the main application window select Computer Protection.
  2. In theComputer Protection window go to the Scan tab and in the Vulnerability scan section click the link with the number of threats.
  3. In the lower part of theVulnerability Scan window on the System vulnerabilities tab check the Show fixed vulnerabilities box.
  4. Select the necessary system vulnerability and click the Roll back button.
