New viruses and modifications of them emerge daily in large numbers, so to protect your computer from infection, it is essential to regularly update Kaspersky PURE 2.0, and also to carry out a full scan of the computer with updated databases no less than once a week.

Updating the application downloads and installs the following objects on your computer:

  • Kaspersky PURE 2.0 databases. Information protection is based on databases that contain descriptions of signatures of threats and network attacks, and the methods used to fight them. Protection components use these databases to search for and disinfect dangerous objects on your computer. The databases are regularly updated with records of new threats and the methods used to fight them. Therefore, you are advised to update them on a regular basis. In addition to the Kaspersky PURE 2.0 databases, the network drivers that enable the protection components to intercept network traffic are also updated.
  • Application modules. In addition to the Kaspersky PURE 2.0 databases, you can also update the program modules. The update packages eliminate vulnerabilities in Kaspersky PURE 2.0 and add new functions or improve existing ones.

Information To successfully download updates from Kaspersky Lab's servers, you need a connection to the Internet. By default, the Internet connection settings are configured by the application automatically. However, if you connect to the Internet via a proxy server, you are recommended to configure the proxy server settings.

Kaspersky PURE 2.0 includes an intelligent system for downloading updates, which only downloads updates for application components that are enabled, minimizing the volume of downloaded updates and the time needed to download them. When a component is enabled, the corresponding updates immediately begin downloading, to ensure up-to-date protection.

By default, Kaspersky PURE 2.0 downloads updates automatically, but you can also set the mode to Manually or By schedule.
