My Report folder keeps growing and has consumed a lot of disk space. How can I clear my Report folder?

  • The folder Report may grow up to a few GB on computers with installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0.4.x.

    Work of Kaspersky Anti-Virus components and execution of each scan / update task are registered in a report.

    Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0.4.x Report folder location is:

    • MS Windows XP/Server 2003: Disk:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP60MP4\Report

    • MS Vista/7/Server 2008: Disk:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP60MP4\Report

    Information You can limit the maximum size of the Report folder by enabling the Maximum size option and entering the desired number of megabytes.

    There are several ways to clear your Report folder:

    1. Clear the Report folder via GUI.
      • Open Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0.4.x and click Settings.
      • Select the section Reports and Storages on the left and click the button Clear.



        A window will open allowing you to choose a category of objects to delete:



        To clear the folder Report choose Delete history Reports (except for the active).
    2. Clear the folder report manually.
      • Open Kaspersky Anti-Virus version 6.0.4.x and click Settings.
      • Select the section Options on the left, uncheck the option Enable Self-Defense.
      • Click ApplyOK.
      • Open the folder Report:
        • MS Windows XP/Server: Disk:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP60MP4\Report

        • MS Vista: Disk:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP60MP4\Report
      • Select the entire content of the folder Report and delete it.

        After deleting files in the folder Report you should again enable the option Enable Self-Defense.


    Also there are report storage settings which allow to save disk space:

    • Keep only recent events.
    • Store objects no longer than. Reports are stored for 14 days by default. You can set any other period to store them, 7 days for example.
    • Maximum size. You can set a maximum report size. By default, the maximum size is 100 MB. You can disable this size limitation or set any other value.

     

    If you are using Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0, you can configure purging of the folder Report via policies for workstations/servers:

    • Open Administration console;
    • Expand the node Managed computers > Policies;
    • Right-click Protection policy - Windows Workstations or Protection policy - Windows Servers and select Properties;
    • Go to the tab Settings and select Reports and Storages in the drop-down menu;
    • Configure the settings as necessary.




    You can force purge the folder Report via Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0:

    • Create an executable .bat file containing the following line:

      del "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP60MP4\Report" /Q

      (if you are using Windows XP/2003);

    • Create an installation package for this executable file;

    • Disable Self-defense on client computers via policies for workstations/servers;

    • Use Administration Server group tasks to run the created installation package;

    • Enable Self-defense on client computers.
