How to transfer Anti-Spam databases from one computer to another?

Applies to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4

If you have been using Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4 Anti-Spam component self-training feature to configure correct mail filtration and would like to copy the knowledge accumulated in Anti-Spam databases from one computer to another, please do the following:

  • copy the file antispam.sfdb from this folder to the new computer:

    • Windows 2000/XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Data
    • Windows Vista/7: C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Data

  • Disable Self-Defense in the application you want to add Anti-Spam databases to:
    • open Kaspersky Anti-Virus and click Settings;
    • select Options in the left part of the window;
    • uncheck the box Enable Self-Defense in the right part of the window;
    • click Apply and OK;
    • close Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

  • Exit Kaspersky Anti-Virus (right-click Kaspersky Anti-Virus tray icon in the lower right part of the desktop and choose Exit in the dialog box);
  • Copy the file antispam.sfdb:
    • Windows 2000/XP folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Data
    • Windows Vista/7 folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Data
  • Start Kaspersky Anti-Virus.
  • Enable Self-Defense.
