Applies to:
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Workstations MP4
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 SOS MP4
  • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 for Windows Servers MP4
  • Kaspersky Administration Kit 8.0
  • Error Event ID 10016 may appear in the Event log on a client computer with installed Network Agent:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: DCOM
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 10016

This error may appear on any operating system.

This error occurs because the service Network Access Protocol Agent was enabled during Network Agent installation. This error emerges when Network Agent is trying to use Network Access Protocol. By default, the user SYSTEM does not have DCOM permissions to launch Network Access Protocol Agent.

We suggest that you disable Network Access Protocol Agent as a solution of the problem.

Unfortunately Kaspersky Administration Kit interface does not have such option.

To make an automatic process of disabling Network Access Protocol Agent, you should create a group task which would run an exe file on client computers:

    • Download the file napfix.zip. Extract its contents using an archiver program, WinZip for example.

      • In order to disable Network Access Protocol Agent, it is necessary to create a group task which would run the file disablenap.exe.
      • In order to enable Network Access Protocol Agent, it is necessary to create a group task which would run the file enablenap.exe.
