Kaspersky Lab, a leading manufacturer of secure content management solutions, announces that Kaspersky Anti-Viurs 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition was one of the first security solutions in the world to earn the Checkmark Platinum Product Award certificate.
The Checkmark Platinum Product Award is a prestigious new award from West Coast Labs, an independent cybersecurity testing and research center. The certificate is issued based upon the results of extensive real-time testing of the quality of antimalware protection provided by a product. These tests very closely simulate the real life working conditions of an average user's computer. Each solution is tested 24x7x365 against a feed of malware in real time which transferred through or to it via the different protocols. Samples are harvested in real time through WCL's global honeynet which spans North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Kaspersky Anti-Viurs 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition demonstrated a consistently high level of malware detection with sufficient performance for the solution to run in real-time. The product was tested against some 800 malware samples appearing each month, including the newest malicious programs that might not yet feature in any malware databases.
The tests mimicked simultaneous attacks via the principle channels through which a computer may become infected: email, Internet browsing and FTP traffic. Kaspersky Anti-Viurs 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition delivered a convincing performance in filtering all of the potential channels, thereby ably demonstrating its comprehensive protection capability.
Kaspersky Lab is proud to announce that Kaspersky Anti-Viurs 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition has been awarded with the prestigious VB100 award by the results of a testing program on the Windows 2008 Server R2 platform. The testing program conducted by the respected British Virus Bulletin issue involved 33 popular antivirus solutions, including products by industry leaders. The solutions were tested on a 64-bit Microsoft Windows 2008 Server R2 operating system against known and unknown malicious programs from several collections: viruses and worms by WildList.org, worms and bots, trojans and polymorphs. All the collections were up to date and included contemporary malware pieces, for example, the WildList selection contained new variants of the Koobface worm.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus demonstrated detection of 100% of threats from the WildList selection, a high detection level of other malware selections and absolutely no false positives. At the same time the processor and memory consumption was insignificant.
This logo means that Kaspersky Anti-Viurs 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition has been optimized to run on the multi-kernel processors Intel Xeon thus improving the scan efficiency.
