How to configure external Anti-Spam services in Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers

Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers can use external IP-address and URL scanning services to protect against spam.

To enable the use of external services

  1. Open the Administration Console of Kaspersky Security 9.0 for Microsoft Exchange Servers.
  2. Go to the Security Server or profile you want to manage.
  3. Go to the Server protection node. Go to Protection for the Hub Transport role.
  4. Expand the Using external Anti-Spam services block.
  5. Check the box Use external resources for spam scan.

  1. To scan messages using your own DNSBL black list, check the box Use set of DNSBL black lists and create a custom list of domain names.

  1. To scan messages using your own SURBL black list, check the box Use set of SURBL black lists and create a custom list of server domain names.

  1. Check the box Check sender IP for presence in DNS to check for a record of the sender’s IP address in the DNS reverse lookup zone.
  2. Check the box Check SPF record to use SPF technology.
  3. Check the box Check if senders IP address is dynamic to check whether the sender’s IP address might belong to a botnet using its reverse lookup zone.
  4. Set the Maximum DNS request timeout in seconds. Once the time is up, the message is checked for spam without checking whether the sender’s IP address is dynamic.
