The article concerns the following versions of Kaspersky Security Center 10:

  • Service Pack 3 (version 10.5.1781.0)
  • Service Pack 2 Maintenance Release 1 (version 10.4.343)

The certificate is used for authentication of the Administration Server:

  • When exchanging the information between the managed devices and the Administration Server.
  • When connecting the Administration console to the Administration Server.
  • When establishing the connection between the primary and secondary Administration Servers.

The Administration Server certificate is generated automatically when the Administration Server is installed. It is located in the following folder: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\KasperskyLab\adminkit\1093\cert.

The Administration Server certificate consists of two parts:

  • The klserver.cer file. The file is stored in the Administration Server installation folder in the subfolder titled Cert. he default path is the following: C:\ProgramData\KasperskyLab\adminkit\1093\cert.
  • Secret key. It is stored in Windows Protected Storage.

The certificate is generated once. If it is lost, you must reinstall the Administration Server and restore the data.
