How to enable detection of vulnerable software in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 19

Sometimes, legitimate applications installed on your computer may have vulnerabilities that can be used for malicious purposes. For solid protection of your computer, enable detection of such applications.
By default, Kaspersky Anti-Virus detects the following types of threats:
- Viruses and worms
- Trojans and malicious tools
- Adware and dialers
- Suspicious packers and multipacked files
How to enable detection of vulnerable software
Enable detection of legitimate programs which can be used for malicious purposes:
- Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus main window. If you’re not sure how to open the application, see this article.
- Go to the Additional section and select Threats and Exclusions.
- In the Types of detected objects section, select the checkbox Detect other software that can be used by criminals to damage your computer or personal data.
- Update antivirus databases. If you’re not sure how to update the databases, see this article.
- Run a full scan of your computer. To learn how to run a full scan, see this article.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus will check your applications for vulnerabilities.
How to exclude applications from the vulnerability search
- Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus main window. If you’re not sure how to open the application, see this article.
- Go to the Additional section and select Threats and Exclusions.
- In the Exclusions sections, click Manage exclusions.
- Click Add.
- Add exclusions for:
- File or folder . Specify a path to a file or folder which must be excluded.
- Object . Enter the object name or mask according to the Virus Encyclopedia classification.
- Protection component . Select the components of Kaspersky Anti-Virus which will skip the object during their work.
- Select the Active status.
- Click Add.
The exclusions has been added. Kaspersky Anti-Virus will skip the selected objects.
How to add applications to the Trusted list
- Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus main window. If you’re not sure how to open the application, see this article.
- Go to the Additional section and select Threats and Exclusions.
- In the Exclusions section, click Specify trusted applications.
- Click Add in the lower-right corner.
- Click Browse, select the application and click Open.
- Set the exclusions for the application.
- Select the Active status.
- Click Add → Continue.
The application has been added to the list.
