How to enable or disable Self-Defense in Kaspersky Anti-Virus 19
Latest update: October 21, 2022

Self-Defense prevents other applications from removing or blocking Kaspersky Anti-Virus. It is enabled by default, but you may need to disable it for diagnostic purposes in case of issues with your Kaspersky Anti-Virus application.
Disabling Self-Defense partially limits the functionality of Kaspersky Anti-Virus and lowers the level of overall system protection.
To enable or disable Self-Defense:
- Click the settings icon in the lower-left corner of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus main window. To learn how to open the main application window, see this article.
- Select Additional → Self-Defense.
- Select or clear the Enable Self-Defense checkbox.
- Click Continue.
- Click Restart now if prompted.
What to do if you cannot enable or disable Self-Defense
