1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Before you begin, we recommend creating a password to prevent controlled users from modifying the Parental Control settings:

   1. Enter a password and click Continue.

   2. 

   2. Click Create Password.

   3. 

   3. Enter the password and click Sign in.

   4. 

   If you choose not to set a password, click Skip.

3. Click the switch opposite the user account you want to control into the Control is enabled position.
4. Click Configure restrictions.

5. To apply preset restrictions, click Default Settings.

6. Select a protection profile.

Parental Control will be enabled for the chosen user account. The restrictions will be applied.

With Parental Control, you can set:

• Time intervals during which access to the computer will be blocked.
• A time limit on computer usage for a day.
• Breaks in computer usage during the day.

To restrict computer access:

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions beneath the user account name.

4. Select the Block access checkbox in the Weekdays and Weekends sections, and then set time periods when your child or teenager will be unable to use the computer.
5. Select the Allow access for no longer than checkbox in the Weekdays and Weekends sections, and then specify the maximum amount of time your child will be able to spend on the computer.
6. Select the Take a break checkbox in the Time breaks section and specify the length and frequency of breaks from computer.

Access to the computer will be restricted.

With Parental Control, you can block access to games on the basis of the user’s age or game categories. Parental Control uses the following age restrictions and category rating systems:

• Pan European Game Information (PEGI): a European rating system for video games and other entertainment content. The system includes 5 age categories and 8 content categories. See the PEGI website for more information.
• Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB): a rating system for video games used in Canada and the USA. It’s often used in Russia too. The system includes 6 age categories and 30 content categories. See the ESRB website for more information.

How to block games on the basis of age restrictions

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Applications section.
5. Select the checkbox Restrict startup of games for users younger than and then select an age from the drop-down list. 
6. Select a rating system: 
   • Detect automatically. The rating system will be selected automatically based on your location.
   • ESRB.
   • PEGI.

Games that exceed the age rating will not be allowed to run.

How to block adult games

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Applications section.
5. Select the checkbox Block games from adult categories.
6. Select a rating system: 
   • Detect automatically. The rating system will be selected automatically based on your location.
   • ESRB.
   • PEGI.

7. Click Select categories of games. 

8. Make sure that the checkboxes have been selected for the categories of games you want to block.

Games from the selected categories will not be allowed to run.

With Parental Control, you can:

• Block the startup of particular applications or applications from certain categories.
• Limit the amount of time the use of some applications may take.

To restrict the startup and use of applications:

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Applications section.
5. Click Settings.

6. Select the checkbox next to the application categories you want to block.

7. If necessary, configure usage rules for a specific application: To do so:

   1. Select either Allow, Block or Restrict from the drop-down list.

   2. 

   2. If you selected Restrict, set a maximum time period for the application use on weekdays and weekends, as well as time breaks and the exact time points to block access to the application.

   3. Click Save.

   4. 

Restrictions on the startup and use of applications will be set.

With Parental Control, you can:

• Restrict internet access time
• Ensure searches for information online are safe
• Restrict access to websites
• Block file download

How to restrict Internet access time

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account for which you want to set restrictions. If the control is disabled, any restrictions you have set will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user account name.

4. Go to the Internet section.
5. Select the Restrict access on weekdays or Restrict access on weekends checkboxes and specify a maximum time period for allowed internet access.

Access to the internet will be restricted.

How to control web browsing and restrict access to websites

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Internet section.
5. Select the Enable Safe Search checkbox to exclude unwanted content from online search results.

6. Select the Control access to websites checkbox and select:

   • Block access to websites from selected categories → Select categories of websites and specify the categories of websites you want to block. For descriptions of the website categories in Parental Control, see this article.

   • 
     

   • Block access to all websites → Manage exclusions and add a list of allowed URLs.

   • 
     

Safe Search will be enabled and access to websites will be restricted.

How to prevent files from downloading.

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If the control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Internet section.
5. Go to the Block file downloading section and select the checkboxes besides the categories of files you want to block.

Files from the selected categories will be blocked from downloading.

With Parental Control, you can:

• Prevent users’ personal data from being transferred to third parties.
• Monitor the use of keywords in messages.

How to block the transfer of personal data

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account for which you want to set restrictions. If the control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Content Control section.
5. Select the Block personal data transfer to third parties checkbox and click Edit list of personal data.

6. Click Add.

7. Select the type of personal data from the list and fill in the Value field. For example, enter the number of a bank card you don’t want to be transferred.
8. Click Add.

Any attempt to transfer the personal data specified will be blocked.

How to monitor the use of keywords

1. In the main window of Kaspersky Internet Security, click Parental Control.

2. Make sure that the switch is in the Control is enabled position for the user account you want to set restrictions for. If control is disabled, any restrictions you configure will not work.
3. Click Configure restrictions next to the user’s account name.

4. Go to the Content Control section.
5. Select the Enable Keyword Control check box and click Edit list of key words.

6. Click Add.

7. Enter a keyword or phrase and click Add.

Parental Control will detect any messages being sent that contain unwanted key words or phrases and will include information about them in a report.

1. Right-click the application icon in the Windows tool bar. If the application icon is hidden, click .
2. Select Disable Parental Control.

3. If Parental Control is secured with a password, enter it and click Continue.

Parental Control will be disabled.

If the Parental Control component is not working properly or an error has occurred, submit a request to Kaspersky Customer Service by choosing the topic of your request.
