A license violator can download antivirus databases from Kaspersky Lab website and copy them into the folder where Kaspersky Anti-Virus keeps its antivirus databases, but they will be rejected by the application. Each antivirus database has a unique digital signature verified by Kaspersky Anti-Virus when updating. Kaspersky Anti-Virus will not use a database:

Release of patches for the application (addressing detected bugs)
