What is the dynamic VDI mode in Kaspersky Security Center 10?

Kaspersky Security Center 10 supports the possibility to enable dynamic mode for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

If the VDI mode is enabled on a client host, then once the host is turned off this host will not be displayed in the list of connected client hosts and its data will be deleted from the database.

This feature might be useful when abundance of virtual desktops is deployed in the corporate network. When a virtual desktop is turned off or when it returns to the saved state, this virtual desktop will not be displayed in the list of desktops connected to the Administration Server.

Data about turned on computers are refreshed when timeout expires. A timeout makes three and a half Network Agent synchronization periods plus 25 minutes.

To enable the dynamic mode for VDI, do the following:

  1. In the console tree in the Remote installation folder select Installation packages.
  2. In the context menu of the Network Agent installation package select Properties.
  3. In the Properties: Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent window select Advanced.
  4. Check the Enable dynamic mode for VDI box. A client host on which the Network Agent is installed will be part of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.

Do not enable this option when installing on a real host.
We recommend creating a new Network Agent installation package (with the Enable dynamic mode for VDI option enabled) to be used for installing on temporary virtual machines.
