Archiving users and restoring them from the archive

You can archive users. Archived users are disabled in the learning section, removed from training groups, and not included in reports.

You can archive a user either manually (see below), or using a synchronization script of ASAP users with Active Directory accounts.

If you integrated ASAP with Active Directory and set Archive as an allowed user action, you will not be able to manually archive users retrieved from Active Directory. Actions on such users must be performed in Active Directory.

To archive users manually:

  1. In the web interface of the application, select the Users section.
  2. Check the boxes to the left of the names of users you want to archive.
  3. In the Actions drop-down list above the users table, select Archive.

    The Archive users window opens.

  4. Click the OK button.
  5. In the confirmation window, click the OK button.

The users are now archived. You can unarchive a user at any time.

To restore users from the archive manually:

  1. In the web interface of the application, select the Users section.
  2. Click the Show archived users button.

Only archived users will be displayed in the table.

  3. Check the boxes to the left of the names of users you want to unarchive.
  4. In the Actions drop-down list above the users table, select Unarchive.

    The Unarchive window opens.

  5. Click the OK button.
  6. In the confirmation window, click the OK button.

The selected users are now unarchived.
