To synchronize the ASAP platform with the local Active Directory service, open port 443 to access the asap-api server.<subdomain>.<domain> (the domain and subdomain depend on the region).
A PowerShell script is used to synchronize data. You can automatically generate the script file based on the settings set in the ASAP web interface. If needed, you can make changes to the file manually. Then the script file needs to be run on your company's Active Directory server. We recommend setting the script file to launch automatically on schedule using operating system tools or third-party applications.
Before synchronizing data for the first time, we recommend activating test mode in the application.
You can enable the application of automatic group distribution rules if you want users to be grouped according to the specified settings. When you start synchronization in test mode, you can see in the log which group the user was placed in and, if necessary, adjust the rule settings. The training status for the new user group isn't determined during synchronization in test mode. By default, the application of rules is disabled.
We don't recommend using automatic group distribution rules if you start synchronization with Active Directory when there are previously existing users and training has already been activated. This can lead to changes in user groups and their training program.
All synchronization requests received from Active Directory are recorded in the synchronization log.
