Global HTTP Proxy

for supervised iOS and iPadOS

The Global HTTP Proxy section lets you configure the iOS MDM device connection to the internet through a proxy server, in order to route the user's internet traffic.

Be careful when configuring these settings. If the settings are incorrect, devices may lose their internet connection and will not synchronize with the iOS MDM Server. If this happens, you will have to add the devices again.

Methods of specifying the proxy server connection settings

In the Setting type section, select the method of configuring the connection of the mobile device to a proxy server:

• Manual. Specify the proxy server address, port, and, if necessary, user name and password manually. This method is selected by default.
• Automatic. Configure the proxy server connection settings by using a predefined PAC (Proxy Auto Configuration) file.

  Proxy server address	The name of a host or the IP address of a proxy server.
  Proxy server port	The port number of the proxy server. By default, the value is 143.
  User name	The user account name for authorization on the proxy server.
  Password	The user account password for authorization on the proxy server.
  Allow access to captive networks without connecting to proxy	Determines whether the user is allowed to access captive networks without connecting to a proxy server.
  Settings if the Automatic method is selected
  PAC file URL	The web address of the PAC file (for example, http://www.example.com/filename.pac).
  Allow direct connection if PAC file cannot be accessed	Determines whether the user is allowed to connect the mobile device to a wireless network without using a proxy server when the PAC file cannot be accessed.
  Allow access to captive networks without connecting to proxy	Determines whether the user is allowed to access captive networks without connecting to a proxy server.
