You can use the executable installer to manage the installation of Kaspersky CyberTrace.
Executable installer options
The executable installer can do the following:
To install Kaspersky CyberTrace, run the executable installer and follow the instructions of the Kaspersky CyberTrace Setup Wizard.
If you have an existing Kaspersky CyberTrace installation, running the executable installer enables the Remove button in the Kaspersky CyberTrace Setup Wizard. Clicking this button will uninstall Kaspersky CyberTrace from your computer.
When the existing installation is removed, all subdirectories and files in the installation directory are removed as well.
If you have an existing Kaspersky CyberTrace installation, running the executable installer enables the Change button in the Kaspersky CyberTrace Setup Wizard. Clicking this button allows you to reconfigure your installation of Kaspersky CyberTrace. Use this option if you want to change the installation settings or if the list of feeds available to you has been changed.
To be able to reconfigure the Kaspersky CyberTrace installation, run the executable installer as Administrator.
Actions in case of error during installation
The configuration files and some other files are moved to the $TEMP\cybertrace_old temporary directory during the installation after Feed Service stops. If errors occur during the installation, the moved files remain in the temporary directory.
To determine the location of the $TEMP
directory, the Kaspersky CyberTrace executable installer takes the first existing variable from the following list: %TMP%, %TEMP%, %USERPROFILE%, %WINDIR%. The executable installer tries to write to this directory. If an attempt to write fails, the executable installer writes to %WINDIR%\Temp
.
The upgrade log file is located in the temporary directory of the user who runs the installer or in the directory specified in the $TEMP
environment variable (see above).
If you encountered an error during an automatic upgrade, contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) for more information on solutions to the problem.
