Kaspersky CyberTrace Web notifications

Kaspersky CyberTrace Web displays notifications when there are probable issues or limitations in the operation of Kaspersky CyberTrace. This section contains information about such notifications and the recommended actions to be performed by the administrator.

Demo feeds notification

When you use Kaspersky CyberTrace on the Community Edition licensing level, only demo feeds are available. In this case, Kaspersky CyberTrace Web displays a notification on the Settings > Feeds tab with the recommendation to purchase commercial feeds to enable the maximum level of protection.

For more information about available Kaspersky Threat Data Feeds, see the "About Kaspersky Threat Data Feeds" section.

Hard drive space notification

When Kaspersky CyberTrace updates feeds, it checks the amount of remaining disk space. If the remaining disk space is low, Kaspersky CyberTrace Web displays a notification. The notification states how much disk space, in MB, is still available for the indicator database. In addition, Kaspersky CyberTrace sends a KL_ALERT_FreeSpaceEnds event.

If you see this notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, you can install additional hard drives or disable unnecessary feeds.

For more information about the required hard drive space, see the "Hardware and software requirements" section.

License key change notification

When Kaspersky CyberTrace changes the active license key, it displays a notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace and generates a KL_ALERT_LicenseChanged event.

For more information about the license keys, see the "About the licensing" section.

License key expiration notification

When the license key that is used by Kaspersky CyberTrace is about to expire, Kaspersky CyberTrace Web displays a notification and a KL_ALERT_LicenseExpires event is generated.

If you see this notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) to obtain a new license key.

After the license key expires, Kaspersky CyberTrace Web displays a notification and a KL_ALERT_LicenseExpired event is generated. Afterward, Kaspersky CyberTrace attempts to switch to one of the additional license keys that have been previously added on the Settings > Licensing tab. If there are no additional license keys, Kaspersky CyberTrace changes its licensing level to Community Edition, displays a notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, and generates a KL_ALERT_LicenseChanged event.

For more information about the license keys, see the "About the licensing" section.

Exceeded EPS limit notification

Kaspersky CyberTrace processes no more events per second than is permitted by the licensing level. If the EPS limit is exceeded, Kaspersky CyberTrace first displays a notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, and then generates a KL_ALERT_EPSLimitExceeded event without imposing any restrictions. Then, if the EPS limit is continuously exceeded for a period of seven days, Kaspersky CyberTrace displays another notification, generates a KL_ALERT_EPSHardLimit event, and limits the number of processed events.

If you see this notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, you can decrease the number of processed events or contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) to change your licensing level.

For more information about the EPS limit, see the "Limitations imposed by license keys" section.

Exceeded limit on the number of indicators notification

Kaspersky CyberTrace reads no more indicators from all feeds than is permitted by the licensing level. When the total number of indicators exceeds the limit, Kaspersky CyberTrace first displays a notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, and then generates a KL_ALERT_IndicatorsStoreLimitExceeded event without imposing any restrictions. Then, if the limit on the total number of indicators is continuously exceeded for a period of five days, Kaspersky CyberTrace displays another notification, generates a KL_ALERT_IndicatorsStoreHardLimit event, and stops reading new indicators from feeds.

For the Community Edition licensing level, Kaspersky CyberTrace stops reading new indicators from feeds immediately when the limit is exceeded for the first time.

If you see this notification in Kaspersky CyberTrace Web, you can disable unnecessary feeds or contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) to change your licensing level.

For more information about the limit on the total number of indicators, see the "Limitations imposed by license keys" section.
