Installation of the program update package 4.0.1

This update allows the Sandbox component to function correctly without installing an operating system image for Windows XP SP3.

Prior to installing the program update package, you are advised to first create a backup copy of the current state of the program and download it to the hard drive of your computer from the program administrator menu. If an error occurs during installation of a program update package or if it becomes necessary to reinstall Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform, you will be able to use the saved copy of the program.

When connecting to a server with the Central Node component over SSH, you must make sure UTF-8 is used as the local encoding. If a different encoding is used as the local encoding, the update package will fail to install.

To install the Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform 4.0.1 update package, the following conditions must be satisfied:

The update is performed using the repack_kata_scanner.sh file. This file is part of the distribution kit of the update package.

When the repack_kata_scanner.sh script finishes, the Windows XP SP3 operating system image is excluded from the configuration set of images used by Sandbox.

To install the Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform 4.0.1 update package:

  1. Use SSH to place the repack_kata_scanner.sh file on the server with the Central Node component:

    scp ./repack_kata_scanner.sh admin@<IP address of the Central Node server>:

  2. Log in to the management console of the server with the Central Node component via the SSH protocol or through a terminal.
  3. When the system prompts you, enter the administrator user name and the password that was specified during installation of the program.

    The program administrator menu is displayed.

  4. In the program administrator menu, select Technical Support Mode.
  5. Press ENTER.

    This opens the Technical Support Mode confirmation window.

  6. Select Yes and press ENTER.
  7. Run the repack_kata_scanner.sh file by running the following sequence of commands:
    1. sudo -s
    2. chmod +x /var/opt/kaspersky/apt/files/repack_kata_scanner.sh
    3. /var/opt/kaspersky/apt/files/repack_kata_scanner.sh
    4. apt-init-docker-stack
  8. Delete installed virtual machines on the Sandbox servers.
  9. Delete images of operating systems and software.
  10. Upload non-activated images of operating systems and software.
  11. Create and install virtual machines with non-activated images of Windows 7 (64-bit), Windows 10 (64-bit).

The upgrade package is installed.
